As an immigrant, I’m in awe of this glorious country and am grateful for the contributions and stewardship of these lands by the peoples that went before me. This land that we created our art on holds thousands of years of human history and on behalf of princess productions’ board, our artists, our artistic and production team, we pay respect and acknowledge the First peoples who have been living on these lands for thousands of years.
It can be said that making art is the summation and expression of who we are, and it is only through recognizing our history that we have the opportunity to create and share our art with you.
We recognize that our work takes place on the traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples and is home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples from across Turtle Island. Please join me in respecting and honouring the traditional caretakers of this land.

un festival bisannuel de danse contemporaine à Toronto.
Yvonne Ng fonde le festival dance:made in canada/fait
au canada en 2000 sous l’égide de princess productions,
et elle produit neuf éditions depuis. En août 2011, le festival prend la forme d’un festival de répertoire.
Au théâtre Betty Oliphant, d:mic/fac présente des pièces existantes et de nouvelles créations de chorégraphes établis et émergents œuvrant au Canada. La programmation compte deux volets : le volet Mainstage, sous la direction artistique de trois artistes du milieu de la danse du Canada, y compris Yvonne Ng, et le volet What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG), une programmation basée sur une loterie, présentée en fin de soirée. Les chorégraphes peuvent soumettre leurs créations dans l’un ou l’autre programme.
En complément à la programmation de danse, Ng s’engage à présenter la danse autrement qu’en spectacle seul ; elle transforme le lieu de diffusion en galerie d’art où des œuvres visuelles fournissent un contexte de présentation. Des activités de sensibilisation enrichissent l’expérience du public et comptent des causeries avant et après le spectacle, des soirées avec les ambassadeurs et danse et des ateliers offerts par les artistes de danse dans les semaines précédant le festival. L’ensemble donne lieu à une expérience de danse unique et à multiples facettes.
