New Dance Horizons, founded in 1986, is a nationally recognized non-profit arts organization dedicated to the creation, production, and presentation of contemporary dance and alternative performing arts.

The New Dance Horizons season begins August 1 and continues through July 31. Programming is established by December of the previous year. NDH annually operates three distinct performance series, an in-house company and professional development opportunities.

Please note: New Dance Horizons will be presenting Louise Lecavalier Nov. 25-26 2011, and Margie Gillis June 29-30 2012.

Performing Series
The Performing Series features the work of Canadian and international guest artists and companies such as Ruth Cansfield, Mascall Dance, LaLaLa Human Steps, Stuart Brisley, Bill Coleman and Laurence Lemieux and Battery Opera. NDH aims to present the Saskatchewan community with established and emerging work rooted within contemporary dance.

House of Dance Series
Unique dance productions by prairie dance artists in collaboration with guest artists and friends, the House of Dance Series is NDH’s newest performance event. Each of the House of Dance performances is an assisted-self-presentation. NDH provides short term residencies to all House of Dance artists toward creation, rehearsal, and final presentation.

Blueprint Series
A tool for both emerging and established local artists, the Blueprint Series invites audiences to witness works-in-progress in a low tech, low stress environment. Audience members are invited to engage in a dialogue with the artists about their work.

Rouge-gorge
Formally known as NDH INTEMPCO, this in-house company is dedicated to the development and celebration of original works by NDH Artistic Director, Robin Poitras in collaboration with innovative and performing artists including Davida Monk, Chiyoko Szlavnics and Benoît Lachambre. A project-based company Rouge-gorge is a foundation for creation, production, and touring.

Learning and Teaching
New Dance Horizons offers ongoing professional dance training, special workshops, lectures, residencies and artist talks, providing an overview of contemporary dance and the performing arts.

All artists or companies interested in presenting through the Performing Series should forward all relevant information by December of the previous season. Artists and/or companies interested in Rouge-gorge should contact the Artistic Director first to discuss their ideas. Videotapes are appreciated and will be returned provided a SASE (stamped self-addressed envelope) is enclosed.
