The 959-seat Eric Harvie Theatre is the main auditorium in the theatre complex. It is a proscenium house with fly tower that regularly accommodates opera, dance and a wide variety of music, film, drama and conferences.
The 246-seat Margaret Greenham Theatre is the second theatre space in the complex. It is a studio space with a fixed audience rake, soft black masking, and a fixed grid. It is used extensively for dance, drama, intimate music events and meetings.
The Banff centre annually presents 4 to 6 dance presentations as part of its Visiting Artist Series. As well, The Banff Centre collaborates and co-produces with a number of mid to large scale dance companies on the creation of new dance works, either through the Performing Arts Residencies Program or formal residency partnerships, as with the Canada Dance Festival. In addition, The Centre also hosts a 5 week summer dance performance program, in partnerships with the leading Canadian ballet companies.
